Community Connect: Superior Farms

The Foothills is fortunate to be situated in a community flourishing with incredible small, local businesses. In an effort to spotlight and celebrate these local gems, we will be introducing you to some of the unique businesses in close proximity to The Foothills. Superior Farms in the next feature in our series.

Another Foothills favourite is the Lantzville Garden Center, Superior Farms. The garden center offers everything from soils and fertilizers to succulents and hanging baskets, but the business goes far beyond that. At Superior farms you will also find a mini-animal farm featuring miniature donkeys, cows, and pigs.

If you are navigating to Superior Farms from The Foothills, it is a short drive. Once on Harwood Drive, take a left onto Philip Road and continue for 1.5 kilometers before turning right onto Vandenhoek Road, then take a quick left onto Superior Road. Continue on Superior Road, keeping left, and you will arrive at Superior Farms.

Superior Farms sits on a 55-acre farm, growing hundreds of thousands of plants each year. In additional to their greenhouse, they have a small retail center and gift shop, selling everything from planters and garden themed decor to locally made goods.

Superior farms also hosts a wide variety of events and children’s program throughout the year. Events take center stage for Superior Farms, including holiday-related events such as wreath workshops and ice skating parties, hanging basket workshops, and concerts. There is always something happening at Superior Farms, so make sure to check out their calendar here. Their children’s programs include Pro-D Day, March Break, and Summer Camps where children can learn about various these related to food, animals and the natural world.
